Margaret Hopkins, a widow, was tried yesterday before Judge Hare, of Philadelphia, on a bill charging her with arson in setting fire to her dwelling, No. 2840 Kensington avenue, with intent to defraud an insurance company of $600. The defendant denied that she was the person who had fired the premises. A sealed verdict will be returned by the jury today. The woman was found wandering about this city and Officer Meyers took her to the Homeopathic Hospital where she was placed under arrest.
